Rawabi Holding Celebrates Agreement Signing with Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic
Al-Khobar – July 12nd, 2011 Rawabi Holding announces signing an agreement with the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP) to train 180 students under Rawabi Holding's sponsorship for two years. The trainees will join the Rawabi Holding workforce after completing their technical training at SPSP.
The initiative comes as a part of Rawabi Holding's corporate social responsibility Community Investment Program where the company supports local initiatives contributing to employability and skills development of Saudi youth. Through such sponsorships, Rawabi Holding aims to enhance the rates of Saudization in its workforce by hiring qualified nationals.
As an oilfield services contractor to major oil companies like Saudi Aramco, Rawabi Holding is in constant need to hire well trained and qualified Saudi nationals. SPSP was established to meet the needs of the oilfield Services Industry and to support Saudization. Founded by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and Chevron Corporation, and having the full support of the Saudi Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), the center offers a number of exclusive industry-specific programs providing the industry with well trained professionals who are competent to fill basic technical jobs.
The agreement was signed by Rawabi Group Chairman, Sh. Abdulaziz Ali AlTurki and SPSP Managing Direction, Mr. Abdullah M. Al-Yami and was attended by Rawabi Group President & CEO, Mr. Osman A. Ibrahim, Rawabi Group HR Manager, Mr. Maher Al Ismail, Rawabi Group Recruitment Manager, Mr. Ghaleb Al-Ghoutani and a team of SPSP executives.

Earlier this year, Rawabi Holding launched its annual CSR initiative, the Rawabi Talent Exhibit (RTE), which falls under the company's Youth Empowerment Program. RTE aims to help youth discover their talents and career tendencies through hosting 25 professionals from different careers to explain the nature of their jobs. Rawabi Holding's first Talent Exhibit took place on the 26th of February to the 10th of March 2011. It was a great success as the number of visitors exceeded its target (7000 students) reaching 8800 visitors.
