Hanaa Almoaibed joined Rawabi Holding in 2010 as the Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility Unit. She is currently responsible for leading Rawabi's CSR Strategy and overseeing its successful implementation, advising strategies that build a more socially responsible work environment across the Group. Since joining Rawabi, Hanaa has been leading Rawabi's Self Discovery Program, which falls under the broader umbrella of Youth Empowerment, the cause chosen by Rawabi's stakeholders as a pressing social issue to pioneer. In December 2011, she was appointed as Deputy Corporate Communications Manager.
Hanaa has been working in the field of sustainability in various capacities for the past six years. She is a co-founder and director of Yareem Restaurants, a company that owns and operates socially responsible library-cafés in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Hanaa has also worked to advance social studies education and economic and entrepreneurial literacy for youth in Saudi Arabia. She worked on the UNESCO Teaching and Learning for a Sustainable Future initiative to incorporate sustainability into the Saudi social studies curriculum, focusing on reorienting the curriculum to encourage students to think about the future of global issues critically and sustainably.
Hanaa gained her BA in International Studies from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, and followed it with a Master's in Science Degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, London UK.
Hanaa has a good track-record in the field of community service and sustainability ranging from studies on the Saudi business climate to sourcing sustainable products and initiatives that tackle the needs of the local community as well as managing events and programs promoting sustainable behavior. She is a member of the Eastern Chamber's Young Businesswomen's Council, heading the youth outreach I-Can initiative.
